Your Data, and How to Delete It
People write to us asking us to delete their account. The short answer is that there is nothing for us to delete, and you do not need to wait for a reply from us to get rid of your data.
There is no account
369 has no sign-up, no login and no password. We never asked for your email address, so there is no user record with your name on it sitting on a server somewhere.
Everything the app knows about you is stored on your own device: your intention, the sentences you have written, your streak, which sessions you have completed, your reminder times, and your settings. None of it is uploaded to us.
This has one consequence worth knowing before you act: because your practice lives on the device rather than in an account, it does not follow you to a new phone, and we cannot restore it for you if it is gone.
Deleting everything
Because the data is local, deleting the app deletes the data with it. On iPhone:
- Press and hold the 369 icon on your home screen.
- Choose Remove App, then Delete App.
- Confirm.
That removes your intention, your history, your streak and your settings from the device. It is immediate and it is complete. There is no waiting period, no confirmation email and no request to send us.
If you would rather start clean without removing the app, delete the app and reinstall it. It will open at the introduction again, with nothing carried over.
What deleting the app does not cancel
This is the part that causes trouble, so it is worth being blunt about it.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you are on the premium tier, your subscription is held by Apple, not by us, and it will keep renewing after the app is gone from your phone. You have to cancel it separately, through your Apple account. Premium, Billing and Cancelling has the exact steps.
Cancel first, then delete. In that order.
What we do collect
We are not collecting nothing, and it would be misleading to say so.
- Analytics. The app reports anonymous usage events, which screens get opened and which actions get started. These are not tied to a name or an email address, because we do not have either.
- Session replay. The app can record anonymised playback of how the interface is used, so we can see where people get stuck. This is off unless you agree to it, and what you type is masked. If you would rather it was off, decline the consent prompt, or delete the app to end it entirely.
Neither of these contains your intention text in a form we can read back and attribute to you.
